Fern Marie Anderson

Fern Marie Anderson, 92, of Peoria passed away peacefully at 7:30pm Monday, March 2, 2015 at Christian Buehler Home.

She was born on March 14, 1922 in Chicago the daughter of Andrew and Myrtle Lunt Stahl. She married Roy Arnold Anderson on April 3, 1943 in Chicago. He passed away on December 19, 1995 in Peoria. One sister Dorothy Stout, one brother Ken Stahl and one niece Doria Slayton also preceded her in death.

Surviving are four daughters Nadine (Donald) Hickey of Galesburg, IL; Terryle Heyer of Ponca City, OK; Jeanne (John) Johnson of Sebastopol, CA; and Carol (Jake) Irions of Marquette Heights, IL. Further surviving are her grandchildren Donald (Pam) Hickey, Dena (Jeff) Wilcoxen, Pamela Burkhardt, Moriah (Brian) Turner, Randall Heyer, Melissa (Charles) Wang and Sarah (Lawrence) Tam as well as great grandchildren Kimberly (Seth) Hill, Andrew Hickey, Jake Burkhardt, Allison and Megan Turner. Also surviving are one great great granddaughter Aubree Hill, several nieces and nephews along with one sister-in-law Dorothy Eckberg.

Fern was a member of Glen Oak Christian Church in Peoria where she worked as a secretary for several years. She also volunteered her time for several organizations in the Peoria area for many years. Fern enjoyed playing cards, particularly bridge as well as many other card games with her friends and family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by all.
