Jose Garza, 72, beloved husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa, was called to his eternal resting place on October 29th 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He entered this world on January 23, 1946 in Acuna, COA, born to Manuel and Maria Garza. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Hilda Garza, Son,Jose (Araceli) Garza Jr of Georgia, Daughter, Christina (Dave) Stear of Edelstein, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Juan Garza of Texas and Carlos Garza of Peoria, Sisters Angelica Vasquez, Maria Saldua and Rosa Garcia, all of Texas. Additionally, there are many, many nieces and nephews across the country that Jose loved and cherished.
He worked for 34 years as a butcher at Alwan and Sons Meat Company in Peoria. Jose was dedicated to his family and loved spending time outside, often times standing in front of a grill, or working in his garden. Jose never met a stranger and welcomed anyone to share a meal or a drink with him anytime he met them. His Grandchildren adored their Grandpa and will miss those moments he would give them when it seemed there was no one else nearby and his world would stop just to talk to them.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Mass will be 6:00pm, Friday, November 2, 2018 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Wyoming. Fr. John Cyr will Celebrate.
