Joseph R. Venzon

PEORIA-Joseph Russell Venzon, 79, of Peoria died at 12:56am, Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria.
He was born on August 18, 1938, in Peoria to the late John and Dorothy Hensley Venzon. He married Rebecca Emmons in 1959 and together they have four daughters Teresa Alvarez and Beverly (Amadore) Ramirez both of Indiana, Lisa (Tyson) Lockhart of Trivoli, IL and Kimberly (Raymond) Baker of Pekin, IL. He later married Arlene Reeves and they divorced in 2006. 

Also surviving are six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and twelve step-children while married to Arlene. Further surviving also are two brothers. He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Joe worked at Caterpillar for 30 years. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was so proud of his 39 years of sobriety. 

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a Celebration of Life on what would have been Joe’s 80th birthday, beginning at 1:00pm, Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the VFW Post 2602, 1505 E.
