Shirley L. Happs 82, of Peoria passed away at 2:44am Friday, November 9, 2018 at Generations at Peoria.

She was born on January 11, 1936 in Peoria the daughter of Bernard and Elsie Brocklehurst Kagel. She married Billy Happs on August 31, 1962 in Peoria. He passed away in 2006. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and one great granddaughter.

Surviving are one daughter Debbie (Loren) Queen of Fayetteville, AR. three sons Mitchell (Joleen) Holland of Peoria, Roy (Tracy) Happs of Joplin, MO and Alan (Suzanne) Happs of Peoria. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, five great grandchildren.

A 1954 graduate of Manual High School, she worked for Peoria Board of Trade, Illinois Bar Association, Bradley University, K Mart, Salvation Army, Goodwill and O’Brien Steel all in Peoria retiring in 2006. She loved the New York Yankees, Swimming, long walks along with the simple pleasures in life such as spending time with family, having a good cup of coffee with a smoke.

Cremation rites have been accorded and no services are scheduled. Memorials in her name may be given to Children’s Hospital of Illinois or Shriners Hospital for Children. To share a memory or send a condolence for her family, visit www.peoriafuneral.com.
