Annie J. Brogan

Annie J. Brogan, 84, of Peoria, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Kountry View Assisted Living in Hanna City, IL.

She was born on March 15, 1940, in Peoria, IL the daughter of Ralph and Lucille Heintz. She married Edward Brogan. After many years of marriage, they divorced, and he passed away on October 23, 2003. Surviving is one daughter, Kathi Brogan (Scott) Senti, of Hanna City.  Her dog, Sheppy, and her grand dog, Bella, preceded her in death.

A proud graduate of the Old Manual High School in Peoria, Annie's dedication to education was a cornerstone of her character, setting a foundation for a life filled with achievement and service.

For over three decades, Annie was the heart of Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, where she served as the office manager. Her unwavering commitment to her work was evident in the meticulous care she took in every task and her retirement in August 2012, marked the end of an era for the organization. Her colleagues remember her not just for her professionalism, but for the kindness and support she extended to everyone she met.

Annie's interests painted the picture of a woman, who found joy in life's simple pleasures. She had a deep love for animals, often spending her free time caring for and appreciating the company of furry friends. Reading and solving crossword puzzles were among her favorite ways to unwind, while her artistic talent shone through in her beautiful drawings. Shopping and dining out were cherished activities, but nothing compared to the moments spent with her beloved family.

A private graveside service is scheduled at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.  There will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Freedom Paws Service Dog Foundation of Chillicothe. https://freedompawsservicedogs.org/ Affordable Funeral & Cremation Services of Central Illinois has been entrusted with arrangements.
