Betty L. Bonnett, 90, formerly of South Pekin, Illinois, passed away at 11:46 pm on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the McLean County Nursing Home in Normal, Illinois.

She was born on August 5, 1935, in Greenwood, Arkansas, the daughter of Clarence and Donna Hartsfield Buckner. She married Wayne A Bonnett on November 2, 1963, and he passed away on January 1, 1982. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Rita (Mark) McDannald of Metamora, Illinois, and Deborah (Troy) Stoehr of Canton, Illinois; one son, Kevin Bonnett of South Pekin. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Dorotha Jean Rouston of Pontiac, Illinois.

At her request, cremation rites have been accorded. Her family will privately celebrate her life. Her remains will be interred at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois, at a later date.
