Betty Fliris

Betty (nee Dickerson) Fliris, 85, passed away at 8:10pm on Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the comfort of her home at Snyder Village, Metamora, IL. She was born on November 1, 1928 in Elco, IL the daughter of Grover and Sophie Shelton Dickerson. She married John Edward Schwieger in May of 1946 and he passed away on May 25 1960. She then married John "The Greek" Fliris in 1987. He passed away in April of 2000. Her parents, three brothers Wilbur, Harold and James as well as one sister Lilly Betts also preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons: Donald (Dannielle) Schwieger of Tinley Park, IL., Jerry Schwieger of Hammond, IN; two daughters: Patricia (Patrick) Underhill of Lombard, IL and Regina Schwieger of Metamora, IL. She was a grandmother to six grandchildren and great-grandmother of four. Also surviving are two brothers Alfred "Buster" (Louise) Dickerson of Hurst, IL. and Grover "Bubby" Dickerson Jr. of Harrisburg IL.
