Betty Lowder

Betty Lowder, 76, of Pekin passed away at 12:50am on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria with family by her side. She was born on April 6, 1936 in Delavan the daughter of Ralph and Irma Taylor Dorsey. She married Francis L. Lowder on March 15, 1956 in Canton, IL. He passed away on April 7, 2004. Her parents, one infant brother and one infant granddaughter also preceded her in death. Surviving are her children Deborah Jean (Wayne) Berg, Donna Marie (Don) Fox, Gary Alan (Kim Potter) Lowder, JoEllen (Michael) Jobe, Lauri Ann (James) Henderson, Melinda Sue Foster, Virginia Lynn "Ginny" (Todd) Wilkerson, David Michael (Patricia) Lowder, Ted William Lowder, and Jamie Diegel. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two brothers Tom (Judy) Dorsey and Ronnie Dorsey, four sisters Maureen Clark, Connie (Jack Drier) Caughey, Carol Heidenreich and Linda Dorsey further survive. She volunteered with State of Illinois Community Committee Youth in the Peoria and Pekin area. She later in life worked for Lazy Acres Mobile Home Park in Aransas Pass, TX for 13 A½ years. At the request of Betty, her remains will be gifted to Life Legacy Foundation for Medical Research, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorials in her name may be given to the family to be given to a charity of their choice.
