Beverly J. Binkele

Beverly J. Binkele, 76, of Peoria passed away 6:15pm Friday, October 17, 2014 in the emergency room of OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on December 7, 1937 in Lexington, IL., daughter to the late Clyde and Olga Fleisher Sherman. She married Orval Maupin in Corinith, MS on December 11, 1954. She later married Dale N. Ellis in Morton on December 31, 1958. She then married Henry Binkele on July 23, 1967 in Peoria, IL. Surviving are two sons Gregory A. (Judy) Ellis of Vancouver, WA and Jeffrey D. Ellis of Leander, TX. Two step daughters Evelyn (David) Bibula of LaSalle, IL and Janet (Patrick) Swank of Oglesby, IL. Also surviving are two granddaughters Lindsay Ellis and Courtney Ellis both of Vancouver, WA. Two step granddaughters Jamie Little of Oglesby and Lesley Meyer of LaSalle; four step grandsons; Paul of LaSalle, Jeremy of Winder, GA., Steven and Gary of Oglesby. Thirteen great grandchildren as well as one brother Allen L. (Lorena) Sherman of Cedaredge, CO further survive her. One step-son Walter W. "Buzzy" Binkele and one step granddaughter Nikki Gorisek preceded her in death. Beverly worked in the insurance industry since 1955, first as a clerk at the office of Industrial Casualty Ins. Co. in Bloomington, IL. She was a CSR in the office of David J. Carroll and then went onto become an agent and worked in several agencies in Peoria. Her last position was as an in house claims adjuster at the Hecht-Stout Ins. Agency in Peoria. She was the past Executive Director of the Peoria Association of Independent Insurance Agents for 28 years and was active in the Peoria Association of Insurance Women and the ABWA. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services are scheduled. Memorials may given in her name to the Tazewell Animal Protection Society "TAPS".
