Beverly Sue Remus

August 16, 1946 — October 12, 2012

Beverly (Sue) Remus passed through death's door into her heavenly home Friday, October 12, 2012 at her home in Danvers. Sue was born August 16, 1946 in Bloomington to Lyle Edward and Mary Louise Taylor. Sure married Gary Remus on June 23, 1972 at Funks Grove. Sue leaves behind her husband, one son Robert (Amy) of Mahomet; one daughter Ginger of Danvers; Three grandchildren Garret, Austin and Taylor; one sister Carolyn Taylor of Bloomington; two brothers Jim (Connie) Taylor of Normal and John (Debbie) Taylor of Austin, TX. Sue led a Girl Scout troop for 10 years, was active in Danvers Jr. Women's Club and worked tirelessly to get computers in Danvers Elementary School. She owned and operated the Cross Stitch Cottage (a dream come true that allowed her to be surrounded by the cross stitch that she so dearly loved), before her 16 year travail with cancer began. A most courageous fighter, she fought off the initial cancer & six recurring bouts. Among the loves of Sue's life were times with her grandchildren, sewing (especially for her grandchildren), her family, cross stitching, camping and fishing, nascar racing, baking (especially Christmas cookies and candies) and cake decorating. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is deeply missed by all of us that loved her, though we are all greatly relieved to see her earthly suffering come to an end. We cannot thank enough those that stood alongside her through these difficult, trying years. Though too numerous to mention all, we know Sue would desire us to acknowledge the following: Dr. Hwan Jeong, all the nurses and staff at the Community Cancer Center (all of which knew her not only as a patient, but also a beloved friend). Passages Hospice staff (especially Alicia & Becky whom she thought of as her second family and cheerfully anticipated their visits). In accordance with Sue's wishes, we ask that you do not grieve as those who have no hope, rather come visit with us in the triumph of her life over death. A celebration of life open house will be held Friday, October 19 from 2-4pm at the Danvers Township Community Hall, just north of Danvers on Road 475 East.
