Billy E. Simpsen

Billy E. Simpsen, 77, of Peoria passed away at 12:19pm Monday, January 27, 2014 in the Emergency room of Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria. He was born on December 30, 1936 in Saybrook, IL the son of Rollin and Barbara Barkley Simpsen. Surviving are one daughter Christy (Larry Friend) Roberts of Peoria and Billy (Annita) Simpsen of Canton. He is also survived by his mother of Peoria; one grandson Billy Rieck of Farmington; one granddaughter Ashley Simpsen of Springfield, IL; two great grandchildren; one sister Sharon (Larry Stevens) Hamilton of Colorado; and one niece Shaya Hamilton of Texas. His father and one nephew Scott Hamilton preceded him in death. An honorably discharged US Army Veteran, he worked for 30 years for the US Postal Service before retiring in 1992. He was avid Bradley Basketball fan, loved listening to music, fishing, watching NASCAR and football. Cremation Rites have been accorded with no services scheduled. Memorials in his name may given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
