Brenda Shields

Brenda L. Shields, "Brenda Lou," age 73, of Peoria Heights, IL, passed away on March 22, 2025. Brenda was born on March 1, 1952, in Peoria.

In 1977, she married the love of her life, Stan Shields, and they celebrated 47 wonderful years together. They had four daughters, Jamie (Todd) Marks, Heidi (Kurt) Scheppmann, Jodi (Chad) Hoelscher, and Lori (Todd) Dalton. She adored her nine grandchildren Kaylee, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Macy, Liam, Tucker, Dylan, Austin, and Sydney.

Brenda loved watching her grandchildren participate in various activities, and she was their biggest cheerleader. She was an avid reader and loved watching any tennis match she could find. Brenda was a self-proclaimed movie critic and loved visiting the movie theater. She was the biggest Harry Potter fan and enjoyed the books and movies.

Brenda worked for Methodist for over 30 years in various positions. During her 73 years, she made many lifelong friends. In her younger years, she was in a weekly bowling league. She spent many Saturday nights with her husband at the Peoria Speedway, cheering on her favorite driver, Don Bohlander. Brenda played Bunco, took water aerobics and Zumba, and looked forward to her weekly Thursday WIN meetings. She shared many laughs with her sister Debbie, sisters-in-law Theresa and Linda, and many nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life, and even until her last days, she always looked out for everyone else's comfort and happiness. She was an amazing wife, mom, grandma, sister, and friend. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

There will be a celebration of life at the Knights of Columbus in Morton, IL, 616 West David Street, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please stop by and share your favorite Brenda Lou memories.
