Brent L. Rebbec, 65, of Mapleton, IL, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. 

Brent was born on September 14, 1960, in Peoria, the son of the late Roger Rebbec and Norma (Fitzgerald) Rose. He is preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Schefelbein) Rebbec, whom he married on May 6, 1989. Brent is survived by his mother, Norma (Edward) Rose; children, Brandon and Nicole Rebbec; and sister Lisa (Ronald) Jaegle. 

Brent was a lifelong hard worker and retired after 40 years of service to IBEW Local 34 as a union electrician. A devoted outdoorsman, Brent would spend his free time hunting, fishing, or working in the garden. He was also passionate about cars, whether going to the races, chatting with buddies at the car show, or driving his beloved 1971 Chevrolet Super Sport Nova, which he had had since high school.

Brent lived an honest and humble life, and was always willing to help out friends or neighbors when he wasn't in his happy place out in the woods or on the water.

A graveside service is set for 3 PM Friday, May 8, 2026, at Mt. Hawley Cemetery in Peoria. Following will be a celebration of life to honor both Brent and Karen at the Bartonville American Legion post 979 at 5 PM. Please celebrate by bringing out your specialty/collectors car.
