Carl Hartig

Carl D. Hartig, 68, of Peoria passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born on January 28, 1950 in Peoria son of the late Howard and Viola Forquer Hartig Sr. He married Deana L. Bingamon on February 14, 1990 in Peoria.

Surviving are his wife, five children Antje (Frank) Sandoval, C. David (Christina) Hartig, Dawn (Brian) Scott, and Josh (Brittany) Searle and Michael (Stephanie) Trower. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother Glen (Bonnie) Hartig.

He was U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran being honorably discharged in 1971. He worked for the Catholic Diocese of Peoria for 18 years. He previously worked for Peoria Typewriter for 20 years. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed by all.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held at the American Legion Post 979, 4501 S Airport Rd, in Bartonville, on Monday, February 26, 2018, from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to Goodwill for Veteran Homeless 403 S Olive St, Peoria, IL 61605.
