Carl Patterson

Carl Fredrick Patterson, Sr., 81, of Mapleton, IL, passed away at 10:11 am on Monday, January 11, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

He was born on July 23, 1939, in Peoria, IL, to Stewart W. and Mary Ann (Berry) Patterson.  He married Betsy Ann Kern on April 21, 1978 in Pekin, IL.  She passed away on June 30, 2018.

Surviving are his children, Jody (Duke) Binegar of Glasford, Shawn (Terry) Patterson of McHenry, IL, Billy (Rhonda) Brown of Glasford, Paul (Sandy) Patterson of East Peoria, Carl Patterson Jr., Kristy (Andy) Burns of Monterey, TN, and Babe (Stacey) Patterson of Friday Harbor, WA.  Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and sisters, Susann Jones of Geona, IL and Judy Miller of Pekin.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and four brothers.

Carl was a United States Army Veteran.  He worked as a fabricator for Enercon Engineering in East Peoria before retiring in April of 2013. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with his family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Kingston Mines Cemetery in Kingston Mines, IL.  Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
