Carolyn M. Bartley

Carolyn M. Bartley, 92, formerly of Peoria and Washington, passed away Sunday August 16, 2015 at Maple Lawn Health Care Center in Eureka. Carolyn Was born on January 17, 1923, in Paxton, Il to Claude and Mayme (Peters) Hammerstrand. She married John Willis Bartley and had an adopted daughter, Carla Dee Bartley, who both preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Dolores (Coulter) Johnson and a brother, Herschel R. Hammerstrand. Among those surviving are a granddaughter, Lisa McKee of O'Fallon Il. and four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn had served as the activities director at Washington Christian Village for many years. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM August 23 in Memorial Hall at Maple Lawn Homes in Eureka. Pastor Jim Gorby and Chaplain Doane Brubaker will officiate. Affordable Funeral & Cremation Services will be assisting the family with arrangements.
