Charles W. Bohannon III, 63, of Pekin passed away peacefully with family by his side at 3:55pm June 4, 2014 at his residence. He was born on July 24, 1950 in Springfield, the son of Charles W. and Ruby Dolly Lefever Bohannon Jr. He married Debra Stieghorst on November 12, 1983 in Peoria. Surviving are three daughters Tammy (Dusty) Hall of Lexington, IL; Heather (Shawn) Sargent of Creve Coeur, and Tanya (Daniel) Johnson of Danvers, IL. Also surviving are 6 granddaughters, 1 great-grandson; one brother and five sisters. Charles was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict and receiving a purple heart. He was honorably discharged on March 18, 1974. He was an auto mechanic for several auto shops in the Peoria and Bloomington area for many years, and had many interest in life but especially enjoyed spending time with his family. At the request of Charles cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of his remains will be 11am on June 20th 2014 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield with military honors accorded.
