Charles A. Goins

Charles A Goins Jr., 78, of Peoria passed away peacefully at 5:15am Friday July 29, 2011 at Heartland of Riverview in East Peoria. He was born on August 12, 1932 in Peoria the son of Charles A. and May Houser Goins. Surviving is one son Steven (Leslie) Goins, one brother Jack Goins and one half brother Bob Emerick. His parents, two sisters Joyce Bennett and Dorothy Brown, preceded him in death. He enlisted with the US Marine Corp. serving in the Korean Conflict before being honorably discharged. He then worked at Caterpillar Tractor for 30 years last working as an assembler before retiring in 1985. He loved to fish, hunt and follow his favorite baseball team the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of the Hanna City Sportsman's Club, and the Caterpillar Retirees Club. At the request of Charlie, cremation rites have been accorded with no services scheduled. Memorials may be given in his name to the Hanna City Sportsman's Club 103 North Main Street, Hanna City, IL 61536.
