Charlotte M. French

Charlotte M. French, 70, of Bartonville passed away at 9:24pm, Friday, February 21, 2014 in the emergency room at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on May 13, 1943 in Lewes, DE, the daughter of George and Evelyn Uphoff Walley. She married Roger D. French on August 27, 1970 in Las Vegas, NV. Surviving is her husband, three children Marty (Cathy) Knowles, Teresa Knowles and Jason French. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Further surviving are one sister Wanda (Kermit) Rippey; three uncles Roland (Barbara) Uphoff of St. Louis, MO, Wendell (Wanda) Uphoff of East Peoria, and Marvin (Opal) Uphoff of Pekin, IL; one aunt Lucille Bruce of East Peoria along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces great nephews and cousins. Charlotte worked for the Kroger Co. for several years and owned and operated her own Beauty Salon. She attended Bartonville Christian Church. Charlotte's enjoyments in life were many, including travelling, collecting sand and seashells, a nature lover as well as a tree hugger. She, before all else loved and enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren, and will be missed by many. Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will receive friends from 3pm until 5pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 with a memorial service at 5pm, followed by a dinner all Bartonville Christian Church. Memorials in her name may be given to the American Lung Association.
