Chauncey
Hersemann
October 11, 1985 – April 26, 2026
Chauncey Lee Hersemann was born on October 11, 1985, in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He died peacefully in his sleep on April 26, 2026, at his home in Pekin, Illinois. During his youth, he often told people that he was a “Billhilly” because of his Kentucky origins.
He was a welder by profession, with many years of experience in welding and fabrication for various companies. Recently, he shifted his career and has been thoroughly enjoying cooking and serving tacos and other Mexican dishes at Paco Tacos. He loved coming up with new menu ideas and expanding Paster Dena’s culinary horizons—like coney dogs!
He is survived by his parents, Denise and Jason Snyder of Pekin, and his beloved children, daughter Isabella Raelee Hersemann and son Maxx David Hersemann, who were his everything. Both children often spent hours riding on the back of his motorcycle with him.
His is further surviving family includes his three brothers: Michael Lee (Angie) Hersemann of Muscatine, Iowa, and Andrew Lee (Bonnie) Hersemann, as well as his brother Danny Lee Hersemann, both of Pekin. Additionally, he is survived by his nieces and nephew: Hailey Hersemann, Garrett Hersemann, Shaynne Mink, and Sydney Mink. He leaves behind his loyal dog, Kaos, Groot, his ancient Bearded Dragon, and, of course, The Chickens. Additionally, he passes on 'Liberty,” his Harley, to be ridden another day—along with Maxx as her operator when he is older. They traveled countless miles together, with Liberty keeping Chauncey safe. He also leaves behind a vast number of deeply saddened friends from all walks of life—Dena, Mike, Ricky, Jesse, and many more.
A memorial service will be held later, with the date to be announced. Additionally, there will be a Memorial Ride on Saturday, June 27, 2026. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity, do a random act of kindness, or stop by Paco’s and purchase a meal ticket for someone in need. All proceeds from the ride will go toward covering his final expenses and costs, as well as those of his children.
