Christopher J. Bigger

Christopher J. Bigger, 40, of Peoria passed away at 12:52 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Unity Point Health- Methodist in Peoria. He was born on October 20, 1976 in Peoria the son of Glen and Elizabeth Carrigan Bigger. He married Sarah R Martindale on November 14, 1998 in Peoria. Surviving are his wife, one son Duncan (Kylee McClister) Bigger and one daughter Olivia Bigger both of Peoria. Also surviving are his parents of Peoria; two brothers Anthony Bigger of Tremont, Dominic (Cathy) Bigger of Peoria, and one sister Samantha (David) Ioerger of Pekin. Further surviving are 13 nieces and nephews. One infant daughter, Madelyn Kay Bigger and one sister Mary E. Bigger preceded him in death. He was 1994 graduate of Manual High School in Peoria. Chris was employed at Caterpillar from 1998 to 2008. He graduated from Lincoln Christian University in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Leadership and Management. Chris then attended Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Masters of Divinity in 2011. He was Pastor at First Baptist Church Marquette Heights, On-Call Chaplain at UnityPoint Health - Methodist and Coordinator of Community Pastoral Care Training at UnityPoint Health - Methodist. He was recognized by the Peoria Jaycees with their distinguished service award for outstanding young religious leader of 2013. Christopher had a deep love of music and played the saxophone, drums and many other instruments. He was a member of Morton Civic Chorus. Christopher was an avid fan of University of Notre Dame Football and Manchester United. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Woodland Baptist Church 6915 N. Allen Rd Peoria, IL. Pastor Joel Newton will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, A trust fund for his children has been established at Glasford State Bank, 305 W.
