Clyde "Butch" Mcabee

Clyde H. "Butch" McAbee, 61, of Washington passed away on Friday August 22, 2014 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, IL.
He was born on May 31, 1953 in Rutherford County, NC son of the late Clyde A. and Caroline G. Blanton McAbee.
Surviving are his children, twins Salem Steck and Waylon McAbee both of East Peoria, Stacey Chamness of Lacon, and Jason McCoy of East Peoria along with several stepchildren. He also is survived by one sister Vicki McAbee of Pensacola, FL; two brothers Wendell McAbee of McMinnville, TN and Bob Washburn of Battle Creek, MI, Further surviving are 14 grandchildren Daniel, Jazamine and Ryan McAbee, Kara and Kimberlee Steck, Brandon Chamness, Shayla Hale, Karlee (Chris) Wigand, Krista, Samantha, Seth, Zakk and Trenton McCoy, Samarah McAbee along with several step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and close family friends Wayne and Sandy Miller. One son Edward McAbee also preceded him in death on August 3, 2012.
Butch was a loving and caring father; grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly. He was a giving, generous individual who loved spending time with his grandchildren, sister and friends. He was genuine and compassionate in all of his dealings with others and was a friend to all that knew him. The number of people who love you measures success and he was indeed a successful man.
Cremation Rites have been accorded with a memorial visitation scheduled for Wednesday, August 27th at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills from 4pm until 6pm. A buffet dinner will then be served for family and friends at the Spring Bay American Legion beginning at 6:30pm also on Monday.
