Connie L. Wade Schlosser, 65, of East Peoria passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at 6:28am with her family by her side. Connie was born on September 1, 1948 in Peoria, IL to Clell and Mildred Menson Wade. She married Richard I. Schlosser on December 16, 1966 and again on February 1, 2005 in Peoria. He survives. Connie is also survived by her son, Derek Dion of Germantown Hills, IL and granddaughter, Summer Ritterbush of Carbondale, IL. Also surviving is her mother, Mildred Wade of East Peoria, one sister, Sandra Wade of Morton, one brother, Terry (Cheryl) Wade of Wyoming, nephew, Brent and niece, Dana; one stepson; Michael (Teresa) Schlosser of Peoria, IL; one stepdaughter Anita (Rob) Robinson of Peoria; three step-grandchildren; Becky, Nathan and Mark. She was preceded in death by her father, Clell Wade and her grandparents, Howard and Hattie Thompson. Connie graduated from East Peoria Community High School in 1966 and Peoria School of Practical Nursing in 1967. She spent 42 years working as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) with hospital agencies and nursing homes. She also owned a ceramic shop and a porcelain doll business for several years. She had a talent for crafts and enjoyed making dolls and doll clothes. She spent her free time with oil canvas painting, reading books, traveling and driving her 2005 Corvette. She loved her dog, Abby who was adopted from TAPS. Cremation Rites have been accorded and no services are scheduled.
