Curtis Burdette

EDWARDS-Curtis L. Burdette 72, of Edwards passed away at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on October 9, 1944 in Sardis, Mississippi to Nora and Gladys Burdette. He married Diana Pickens on June 4, 1968 in Peoria. She survives. Also, surviving are two sons, Brian Burdette (Sarah) of Aurora, Colorado and Gregory Burdette of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Angie (Michael) Diatelevi of Norfolk, Massachusetts, and Brianna Burdette of Edwards, Illinois. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and older brother. Curtis was an employee for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 48 years working in Quality Control. He also loved running, where he completed 10 marathons. He was a basketball official for the IHSA, he also enjoyed fishing and spending quality time with his family. Cremation rites were accorded and all services are private.
