Dale Edward Mills, 74, of Bloomington passed away on Sunday January 8, 2017 at 3 PM at the Richard L Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. Born May 10, 1942 to James and Olive Mills in Havana, IL. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Joan, Daughters, Violette (Ruffin) Wright of Annapolis, MD, Trisha (Willie) McGee of Bloomington, Sons Daniel (Kim) of Bloomington and Bryan (Tiffany Janicek) Lerche of Union Grove, WI. He is also survived by Brothers, Larry of Fleming Island, FL, Gilbert of Denton, TX , Kenneth of Havana, IL, and Sister Cindy Case of Lewistown, IL. 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as Aunt Veda and Uncle Joseph "Joe" and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Brother James "Bub" and Sister Jennifer. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after faithfully serving in Vietnam and other areas from 1960 until 1980. After he retired, he worked as a security guard and drove trucks until retiring again in 2004. Dale was active in the American Legion, VietNow, VFW, Marine Corp. League, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He was also deeply committed to honoring Veterans of all wars in many ways. Cremation Rites have been accorded. There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 3:00 PM at the Moose Lodge, 614 IAA Dr., Bloomington.
