Daniel G. Mclaughlin

Daniel G. McLaughlin, 84, of Metamora passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL. Dan was born February 3, 1931, in Jacksonville, IL to Cortelyou and Agnes (Smithson) McLaughlin. He married Janet L. Beaumont on October 28, 1954 in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2010. He is survived by his three children, Jeff (Jodi) McLaughlin of Chandler, AZ, Julie (Robert) Sackett of Omaha, NE and Amy (Ken) Mauser of Peoria. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Craig, Parker and Jillian McLaughlin, Erin and Kate Sackett, Kara (Nick) Kogelman and Eric (Abby) Mauser. In addition one brother, Dr. Henry McLaughlin of Fallbrook, CA, sisters Janice Reuter of El Dorado Hills, CA, and Susie Lashmett of Babbitt, MN survive. His parents and one sister, Linda Ator, also preceded him in death. After graduating from Millikin University, Dan farmed and raised livestock with his father in Greene and Scott counties. Later he sold real estate in Springfield, worked for the American Heart Association in Peoria and completed his career as the church administrator for Northminster Presbyterian Church. His last job was one that gave him great joy serving the members of Northminster and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Dan was also a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. We would like to thank Tina, Peg, Unity Point Hospice and Snyder Village Health Center for their loving care of our father. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Northminster Presbyterian Church with Mike Shirey officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30am until his time of service. Private Burial will be in Mt. Hawley Cemetery in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church or Snyder Village.
