Donald Calvin Beason Jr.

Donald Calvin Beason Jr., lovingly known as Don, passed away surrounded by family and love on February 11, 2025, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born on June 11, 1940, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Donald Calvin Beason Sr. and Stella Mildred Gooch. He was married to the late Susan Clarke for 49 years.

Don dedicated his life to his family, faith, and community. He worked in the grocery industry, where he left an indelible mark of hard work and integrity. Don was an avid fisherman, spending countless cherished hours on the water. His passion for serving others shone brightly through his commitment to Wesley Weekend Retreats and Christian prison ministry, where he brought hope and faith to those in need.

Don is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce, whom he married in 2018. His legacy lives on through his children, Deana (Dennis) Dickerson, Donna (Steve) Allen, Darci (Reed) Overfelt, and David (Darryl) Bauman. He was preceded in death by his son, Dana Bauman.

Don is also lovingly remembered by his five beloved grandchildren: Lawrence (Adriana) Spasojevich, Haleigh (Martin) Viau, Matthew (Lauren) Dickerson, Justin (Stacey) Bauman, and Paige Allen. He also leaves behind five precious great-grandchildren: Tatum, Max, Lincoln, Jett, and Oliver.

He will be deeply missed by his stepdaughter Ann Marie Sepich, his step-grandchildren Matthew, Sara, and Riley, and their extended families, as well as Jeff Beason Laura Beason, Donald (Twila) Beason III, Mark Beason, Craig Beason, and their families.

A celebration of Don's life will take place at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather and honor his memory. Don's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
