Donald L. Hammer

Donald L. Hammer, 83, of West Peoria passed away at 11:36am Friday, June 13, 2014 at Unity Point Health-Proctor. He was born on November 24, 1930 in East Peoria. He married Joetta Good. He later married Barbara E. Cleary on April 7, 1993. She survives. Also surviving are two sons Steven Hammer of Streator, IL and Larry Hammer of Clarksburg, WV three grandchildren, Ashley, Zachary and Aubrey. One sister Margaret Mitzelfelt preceded him in death. Don was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran. He was an East Peoria firefighter for 23 years retiring in 1981. Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be 3pm Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
