Donald J. Rogers

Donald J. Rogers, 60, of East Peoria passed away unexpectedly at 7:06pm Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the emergency room of OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on September 17, 1954 in Peoria the son of the late James "Sam" and LaDonne Doubet Rogers. He is survived by one sister Debra Rogers and a host of family and friends. Don completed his first 13 years of school with perfect attendance. He attended the University of Illinois-Champaign and graduated from ICC in 2014. Don owned and loved stock cars. He successfully competed at Peoria speedway and other Midwest racetracks for over 40 years giving seats to some of the very best drivers in the state. Dollar for dollar he was tough to beat. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of his life along with burial of his remains at Cottonwood Cemetery in rural Hanna City will be at a later date.
