Donald "Bud" Wright

Donald J. Wright, 81, of Peoria, passed away at 6:20 PM on Aug. 27th 2014 at OSF St Francis Medical Center. Don was born on May 19, 1933 in Peoria to Thomas R. and Grace L. Wright. He married Sally Schildmiller in 1957 and they had two sons, Michael T. Wright of Amarillo Texas and Steven L. Wright of Wubasha Minnesota. Donald also has 3 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and one great-grandson. Don was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother Loren "Bud" Wright and by his former wife Sally. He attended Woodford High School in Peoria. Don then enlisted in the United States Army serving as a Medic during the Korean War, before being honorably discharged. Returning to Peoria, he worked mostly in automotive sales and service. Don was an avid collector and enjoyed boating, cooking, entertaining, and spoiling his dog Pepper. He was a proud father and devoted friend to many and will be missed by all. Don's family extends a special thank you to the entire staff at Courtyard Estates of Peoria for their kind and compassionate care. At his request, cremation has been accorded and private services will be held at a later date. In honor of Don, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of choice.
