Dorothy A. Ausmus, 92, of Eureka, IL passed away at 3:58 am Friday, November 25, 2022 at The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing in Eureka, IL.

She was born on August 18, 1930 in Monroe City, MO the daughter of the late Roy L. and Anna L. Wilson Carper. She married Dave Ausmus on October 26, 1956 at Knox City, MO.

Surviving are her husband of Eureka, IL; six children; Chuck (Marianna) Sapp of Hannibal, MO; Terry Sapp of Hannibal, MO; Larry (Joyce) Ausmus of Edwardsville, IL; Connie Ausmus of Eureka, IL; Theresa Altes of Stanford, IL and Dave (Jennifer) Ausmus Jr. of Goodfield, IL. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Paul Carper of Quincy, MO and three sisters Diane TenEyck, Betty Scrifers and Susan See all of La Belle, MO. Her parents, stepmother, three brothers and one sister all preceded her in death.

Dorothy was a devote Christian and impacted the lives of many. She was committed to raise all six of her children in a Christian home and bring her children to know Jesus. Dorothy was a quiet role model but did not hold anything back when it came time to witness to her family or others. Living a Christ like life was Dorothy's gift to the world and many were drawn to her as God used her as a vessel to share his word. Dorothy was shy..she did come across quiet and reserved but not when it came to sharing her faith and God's love with her family. She will be truly missed but Dorothy is in a far, far better place as she awaits the rest of her family to join her. Her favorite Bible Verse is Romans 8:28 and favorite song, At Calvary. Dorothy enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking a Feast for family and friends and a Cubs fan!

No funeral will be held. A private family service will take place at a later date.
