Ed "Tuffy" Smith

Joseph Ed "Tuffy" Smith, 65, of Peoria passed away at 9:40am Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on April 14, 1949 in Sioux City, IA the son of the late John T. and Arline Bertrand Smith. Surviving are one sister Joline "Bugs" (Joe) Parks and one Brother Robert "Boney" Smith all of Peoria. He attended St. John Catholic School in Peoria and later graduated from Manual High School. Tuffy then enlisted with U.S. Army being honorably discharged on April 1, 1975. He worked for Hauser Automotive Supply in Peoria for a number of years. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials in his name may be given to the Disabled American Veterans or to Wounded Warrior Project as he was very supportive of the U.S. Military or to a charity of the donor's choice.
