Eleanor Stewart, 103, passed away at 3:30 PM on Monday, October 6, 2025, in Peoria, IL.

She was born on January 2, 1922, in Kunkletown, PA. Eleanor married Conard Stewart on January 25, 1947. He preceded her in death, along with their son, David H. Stewart; her parents, John Henley and Sarah Schingler Henley; and all her siblings.

She is survived by her two children: Dennis C. Stewart of Houston, TX, and Debra Peacock (James R. Peacock) of Dunlap, IL.

Eleanor taught in the Pleasant Valley School District and the Peoria School District for a total of 32 years. Additionally, she served in the Army Air Corps in a clerical position during WWII, initially in England and later in France. She was a member of Forrest Hill United Methodist Church for 66 years.

A celebration of her life will be held at Forrest Hill UMC on November 8, 2025, at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forrest Hill UMC. Contributions can be sent to: Forrest Hill UMC, 706 E. Forrest Hill Ave., Peoria, IL 61603.
