Fairy L. Burroughs

Fairy Lea Burroughs, 84, of Mapleton, IL passed away at 6:15 am on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL.

She was born on October 10, 1940, in South Pekin, IL the daughter of Darrell and Beulah Porter Jarrett. She married Dale E. Burroughs on March 10, 1960 and he survives.

Also surviving are her daughter, Penny (Ron) McGee of Mapleton and one son Dale (Patty) Burroughs of Kingston Mines, IL. Further surviving are six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Her parents, two brothers Wayne and Jim and one sister Norma Grebner preceded her in death.

She served as the caretaker of Kingston Mines Cemetery for 30 years. Fairy loved bowling and working outdoors. She cherished spending time with her family and was a very loving and caring person.

Cremation rites have been completed. A celebration of life will take place on January 18, 2025, from 3 PM to 5 PM at Mapleton Church, located at 9409 S. Powell Rd., Peoria, IL. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
