Frederick A. Mayes

Frederick A. Mayes, 82, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at his residence. Frederick was born on July 13, 1942, in Beardstown, a son of Vernon and Pearl (Gravens) Mayes. They preceded him in death, along with his daughter, Tammy McCoy and siblings, Larry Mayes, Terry Mayes and Elaine Fox. He is survived by his significant other of over 30 years, Mary Kessler, of Peoria; children, Fred (Katie) Mayes of Browning, Anna (Jim) Smith of Marseilles, Debbie (Terry) Mayes of Frederick and Tracey Mayes of Aurora; step children, Mike (Rikki) Hall of Peoria, Karen Edison of Peoria, Tammy (Jerry) Tassart of Pekin and Debbie (Ray) Rivers of Pekin; siblings, Melissa (Juan) Sanchez and Stacey Mayes, both of Beardstown; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Frederick was a cross-country truck driver for many years, last driving for Crst Trucking. He will missed. Per Frederick's request, there will be no public visitation or service.
