Garnett Sewell

Garnett E. Sewell, 89, of Pekin, IL, passed away peacefully at 11:37 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022, surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 2, 1932, in Smithfield, IL, the daughter of the late Clifford and Nellie Herriford Robinson. She Married Haze A. Sewell on September 25, 1949, in Glasford, IL. He passed away on September 8, 2009. One She was preceded in death by her husband Haze, her daughter Deborah Lawrence and her son Russell Sewell also preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter Ruth (Brett) Briney, granddaughters Donna (Brad) Edwards, Marci Bengert, Karie Alsop, Shannon Davis, and one grandson Justin (Jennifer) Briney. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren John, Koby, Logan, Isabella, Kiara, Zander, Corbin, Jason, Seth and Caleb and one great-great-granddaughter, Zella.

Garnett worked at Bemus Bags and Laidlaw Wire Company and volunteered at the Galesburg Fish Food Pantry. She was a member of the Eastern Stars in Keithburg, IL. She spent her life devoted to her family and helping others.

At the request of Garnett, cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton IL.
