Gary D. Locke, 52, of Peoria passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the OSF Richard Owens Hospice House in Peoria. He was born on June 8, 1961 in Peoria the son of Bobby D. and Karen Bogner Locke. He married Carol Fundora on August 17, 1984 in Guttenberg, NJ. Surviving are two sons Sean of Peoria and Shane of Stroudsburg, PA. Also surviving is his mother Karen (Charles "Chuck") Connell of Tuscon, AZ, his father Bobby Locke of Phoenix, AZ. His step-mother Becky (Richard) Wagler of Peoria, 3 brothers Greg Locke of Mackinaw, Jeff Locke of Peoria and Scott Connell of Los Angeles, CA; three sisters Gaye (William) Hawkins of Arlington, TX; Gwen (Mark) Ganut of Phoenix, AZ; and Patricia (Mark) Kirchmeyer of St. Petersburg, FL. He was the grandson of the late Charles and Winifred Bogner of Henry; the late Walter and (Sadie) Locke of Chillicothe, IL, and nephew of Ronald and Sandra Bogner of Henry. Gary attended schools in Henry, Pekin and was a graduate of Illinois Valley Central High School in Chillicothe. After moving to the east coast, he worked in corporate management with fast food franchises, and The Coffee Beanery across the United States and worldwide. After returning to Peoria he worked for Caterpillar Tractor in Mossville and Mapleton for the last 3 years, working up to the last week of August. Cremation Rites have been accorded. The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2pm with words of reflection at 2pm Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills. Memorials in his name may be given to the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
