George A. Davis

George A. Davis, 81, of Varna, passed away peacefully at 1:25pm Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on May 9, 1933 in Waukesha, WI the son of John and Florence M. Muehl Davis. He married Judith Conibear on January 27, 1963 in Chatsworth, IL and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters Maureen (David) Miller of Normal, IL and Suzanne (Mike) Schall of Cullom, IL. Also surviving are five grandchildren, as well as one brother John (Carol Ann) Davis of New Port News, VA one sister Barbara (Larry) Covili of Williamsburg, VA. One daughter Barbara Dockery and two brothers preceded him in death. A Korean Conflict Army Veteran he was honorably discharged in April of 1955. He then worked as a truck driver for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sparland. George was an amazing and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. Cremation rites will be accorded. A time to celebrate his life will be 11:00am on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Sparland. Pastor Elaine Bolen will officiate. Visitation will be one half hour prior to his service. In lieu of flowers memorials in his name may be given First Baptist Church in Sparland.
