George "Georgie" W. Purdy, 70, of Bartonville, IL, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

George was born September 8, 1951, in Peoria, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Juanita Purdy, as well as his nephew, Larry Wilson.

He is survived by his two sisters, Nita (Larry) Wilson, of Pollok TX, and Debbie (Larry) Dawson of Bartonville, IL; one brother, David Purdy, of Bartonville, IL; and several nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.

A graduate of Limestone Highschool, George then worked forty-three years at Illinois Furniture until the store's closure. To say George had green fingers would have been an understatement of his love for gardening. He was a prolific gardener and exquisite florist. George was one of the most gentle souls to grace this Earth, his kindness and compassion for family and friends knew no bounds.

Cremation rites have been accorded, with a private family celebration of life to follow at a later date.
