George Evan Seaman, 88, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026.

He was born on July 25, 1938, in Bellaire, Michigan, to Evan and Gladys Smith Seaman. George met Helen Patton in 1955, and they married on March 30, 1957, in Madison Heights, MI. Together, they raised four children: Greg Seaman, David Seaman, Karen (Rod) Karmenzind, and Gene (Kaitlin) Seaman. He also enjoyed eight beautiful grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Al Seaman, of Mancelona, Michigan. 

He was preceded in death by his wife on April 18, 2022, and by his daughter, Karen, on July 21, 2023.

George previously served as a supervisor at Western Union before enjoying his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who enjoyed spending time outdoors and time with his family. You could always find George in his rocking chair in the living room, a dog at his feet, as he watched TV and snacked on Kitchen Cooked chips. The family is at peace knowing that Helen and George are playing cribbage together once again. 

The interment of his remains will be at a later date with close family attending. Because of George's love of Dickson Mounds State Museum, in lieu of flowers, please make donations in George's name to the Illinois State Museum Society (illinoisstatemuseum.org).
