Gerald Lee. Hartley, 63, of Chillicothe, Illinois, passed away on July 10, 2026, at his residence.

Jerry was born on November 27, 1962, in Peoria, the son of the late Lee and Kay McCartney Hartley. He married Rita Conrad on December 11, 1999.

He is lovingly survived by his six children: JeTaun Hartley, Jade West, Jerred (Alex) Hartley, Cole (Jackie) Hartley, Chase Hartley, and Mikya Buhs. He is also cherished by his eight grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Harold (LeeAnn Spencer) Hartley, and his sister, Amy (Troy) Heuck, along with a wonderful group of nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.

He initially worked at Micro Pavers in East Peoria. Later, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and opened his own business, J-Rock Pavement Maintenance, which he ran until 2013.

Jerry was passionate about NASCAR and drag car racing, and he truly enjoyed being outdoors. He loved having a cozy fire whenever he could, rain or shine, and cherished every moment spent with his family. His warmth and enthusiasm made every day special.
