Gloria Veal

Gloria L. Veal, 78, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

She was born on July 28, 1947, in Big Spring, Texas to Lee and Hazel Yates Lawdermilk. She married Charles L. Veal on July 29, 1966. 

Her surviving family includes her husband, two daughters-Angela (Richard) LoPresti of Westchester, Illinois, and Amie Veal of Peoria-and a bonus daughter, Sheri (Edwin) Ziegler of Mackinaw, Illinois. She also leaves behind three grandsons-Nathaniel (Kendra) LoPresti, Noah LoPresti, and Austin Ziegler-and one sister, Gwen Reynolds of Elgin, Illinois. 

Gloria cherished her family and her church, the Pentecostals of Peoria. She always looked forward to going, caring more about the act of going than the destination. Her flower garden brought her joy, and she was a talented seamstress and artist, among many other skills. She was genuinely kind and loving to everyone she met. 

Cremation a memorial service will take place at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Pentecostals of Peoria, located at 3510 W. Malone St., Peoria, Illinois. The family kindly requests that plants and flowers be delivered directly to the church.
