Gordon Aupperle

December 22, 1946 — April 5, 2015

Gordon A. Aupperle, 68, of East Peoria passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Unity Point Health-Methodist. He was born on December 22, 1946 in Story City, IA the son of Earl and Shirley Orcutt Aupperle. He married Carla Weess and had three children Matt (Michelle) Aupperle of Moore, OK, Jason (Davina) Aupperle and Rachel Aupperle all of Peoria. He then married Theresa Potter and acquired three more children Scott Potter, Tabatha Potter both of Peoria and Tanyia of East Peoria. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Further surviving are one brother Dennis Aupperle of Tampa, FL and a special niece Jenia (Peewee) Aupperle of Tampa, FL. His parents, his first wife Carla and one brother Gary preceded him in death. He retired from Keystone Steel and Wire after 23 years of service. He then enjoyed working part time at J&H Carwash in Morton. He loved stock car racing and the annual TT Motorcycle races and being affectionately known to his grandchildren as the "ugly old troll". Before his passing he said he was grateful to pass knowing he was loved and that he left a group of us never asking "Can I". He is finally at peace re-united with his beloved dog Cujo. Cremation rites have been accorded. A time to celebrate his life will be held at Crusen's on War Memorial Drive in Peoria beginning at 5pm on Wednesday, April 8th, 2015 to enjoy one last smoke with Gordi.
