Herman G. Maile

Herman G. Maile, 89, of Dunlap passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria. He was born on August 30, 1924 in Peoria the son of Gottlieb and Mina Ziegele Maile. He married Arlene L. Lauer on March 6, 1954 in Peoria. Surviving are his wife of Dunlap, one daughter, Sandra Masters of Peoria, three granddaughters Marianne Nordvall of Chillicothe, Lisa Jacobsgaard of Washington, IL and Amanda Belk of Peoria. Also surviving are 8 great grandchildren, two sisters Wilma Seabaugh of Marietta, GA and Betty (Walter) Clinch of Washington, IL as well as 7 nieces and nephews. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. Herman was an honorably discharged U.S. Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He worked for the City of Peoria for 30 years retiring in 1993. Cremation rites have been accorded with a private burial at a later date in Lutheran Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Passages Hospice and Heddington Oaks. Memorials in his name may be given to a Heddington Oaks.
