Irene Satchfield

On Monday, March 3, 2025, Irene slipped from the planes of this earth to her new heavenly home and safely in the arms of Jesus!

Irene was born December 14, 1941, to David and Annie Ledford in Unicoi County, Tennessee. She moved to Illinois and graduated from Woodruff High School. She married Donald Satchfield on September 16, 1977. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2023.

Irene has one surviving daughter, Vickie (Rick) Baldwin of Washington, Illinois. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Sydney Haven, Arin (Carah) Haven, Zachary Haven, Nick (Amber) Baldwin, and Steven (Libby) Baldwin. Her grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life! Irene was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Jayda, Amia, Emmy Haven, Franklin Baldwin, and Cain and Dean Baldwin. Irene is further survived by sisters Alice Hensley and Judy Fisher, brothers Charley (Lorrie) Gleason and Raymond Ledford, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Edna Stone, and one brother, David Ledford Jr, and her spouse of 47 years.

Irene loved Jesus more than anything else in this world, with the Chicago Cubs being a very close second! If you were around her any amount of time, she shared that love and passion from the bottom of her heart!

Our family would like to thank Dr. Michelle Rowland, her nurses Jen and Dawn, and the whole office staff for all the care, love, and compassion they have shown Irene in her battle with Ovarian Cancer over the last two and a half years. Our deepest love and gratitude also go to the staff at OSF Cancer Institute Infusion Center. You all hold a very special place in Irene's heart and her family's as well!

Visitation will be from 12 pm until 2 pm. on May 31, 2025, at Richwoods Christian Church, with a celebration of life service beginning at 2 p.m. Following the celebration, cremated remains will be interred at Pottstown Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her honor to Richwoods Christian Church -Youth Scholarship at 8115 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria, IL 61615.
