Janet was born on June 12, 1938, in Peoria, IL to Fred and Marie (Schwerer) Otten. She was preceded in death by her parents, along with two husbands, John "Jack" Boyce (1969) and Gene Gorman (1987), and her beloved son, Nicholas Wolfe (1996).

Janet leaves behind a loving family who will miss her deeply, including five children—Tony Wolfe of Springfield, IL; Terry (Keith Probasco) Wolfe of West Peoria, IL; Michelle (Parrish Worsfold) Paul of Centennial, CO; Joe (Lori) Boyce of Germantown Hills, IL; and Gena Gorman of Dunlap, IL. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Ellen (Joseph) Johnigk of Bartonville, IL; James (Diane) Otten of Peoria, IL; a devoted companion during her final years, Bill Moses of Peoria, IL; and former husband James Wolfe of Peoria, IL.

Her greatest joy was being a grandma to 8 adoring grandchildren—Adam (Kristen Sheola) Paul of Winter Garden, FL; Marie (Jeremy) Hayes of Littleton, CO; Anna (Phil) Amos of Highlands Ranch, CO; Connor and Riley Gibler of Dunlap, IL; John, Matthew, and Sarah Boyce of Germantown Hills, IL; and three great-grandchildren—Harper and James Hayes of Littleton, CO; and Lilly Amos, of Highlands Ranch, CO.

Janet lived most of her life in Peoria, where she attended Academy of Our Lady High School. She was a talented pianist who regularly performed in Peoria's vibrant live music scene in the 1950s and 1960s and appeared in multiple productions at Peoria Players Theatre in the 1960s. She raised her children in Bartonville, IL, where she was a member of the Frontier Estates Homeowners' Association and, alongside her family, hosted the neighborhood's most legendary Halloween haunted houses.

Janet worked in the medical and retail fields and retired from C.R. Cook Furs & Fashions. In retirement, she embraced a slower pace, surrounded by family, lifelong friends, her cherished cats, and Diet Dr. Pepper. Her warm and loving nature will be remembered by all who knew her.
