Jimmie Nelson Gravitt, 86, of Goodfield, IL, passed away at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.

He was born on November 30, 1936, in Haleyville, AL, the son of Marion and Mary Strickland Gravitt. He married Beverly Cole on December 14, 1962, in Peoria, IL. She passed away on November 14, 2011. Four brothers Elton Gravitt, Jeareal Gravitt, Clifford Miller, and David Miller, and three sisters, Joyce Gravitt, Helen Brown, and Lonnie Wattling, all preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sons, Adam Gravitt and Aaron Gravitt, both of Goodfield, IL, and one daughter Alizabeth Gravitt of Bloomington, IL. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Justin and Jacob, one brother Rick (Sue) Miller of Georgia, and one sister, Rosemary Harris of Washington, IL.

Jimmie served in the United States Air Force and worked at Caterpillar before his retirement.  He loved his family very much and proved to be the model husband and father.  He will be deeply missed by his family.  His daughter would like to give a very special thank you to to the Heart Failure Clinic for all their genuine kindness and care.

Cremation Rites have been accorded with no services scheduled.
