Joseph Bishop Jr, 80, of Peoria passed away on Sunday June 3, 2012 at Morton Villa Care Center in Morton after a short battle with cancer. He was born on September 9, 1931 in Peoria the son of Joseph Sr. and Harriett Saxton Bishop. They preceded him in death along with three sisters and one half brother. Surviving is a daughter Karen Bishop of Texas; two half-sisters Irene Gulley of Dunlap, and Rose Gard of Peoria as well as several nephews, nieces and great nephews, and nieces. He served in the US Army from 1951 until 1953. He then worked many years ago for the railroad in Pekin, IL and most recently at Keystone Steel & Wire Co. for several years. Cremation Rites have been accorded, and at the request of Joe, there will be no services.
