Joseph A Pocius Sr

Joseph A. Pocius Jr., 58, of Peoria passed away at 12:24am on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. He was born on October 6, 1955 in Peoria the son of Joseph A and Wanetta Beechler Pocius Sr. He married Angela Belle Harris on December 18, 1994 in Peoria. Surviving are his wife of 20 years, two daughters Vernessa (Roy) Osborne of Peoria and Lilly (David) Williams Jr. of Sumter, SC. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. His parent's and his two sons Jeremy Lee Guffy and Bayless L.D. Guffy III preceded him in death. Joe was a 1973 graduate of Limestone High school. He held several degrees and certifications in computer programming and machine design but was a machinist by trade of 30 years, working for Dooley Bros., IMT and Standard Sheet Metal. His passions in life were fishing, art, music, family and riding his Harley Davidson. Cremation rites have been accorded. A time to celebrate Joe's life will be held on Monday, February 17th at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills from 2:00pm until 4pm.
