Joyce A. Modro

Joyce A. Modro, 82, of Lacon, IL, passed away at 7:52 am on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.

She was born on August 9, 1939, in Lacon, IL, to William and Mary Irene (Justice) Baum. She married Robert "Bob" V. Modro on November 27, 1958. He passed away on October 3, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Arthur Baum and Howard Baum, and one sister, Mary Ellen Bass.

Surviving are her children, Robin Modro of Lacon, Mark (Jayme) Modro of Oswego, IL, and Beth (Jeff) Jason of Lacon; two grandchildren, Devon (Eric) Atkins and Vanessa (Tim) Flaherty; and four great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Finleigh, Elijah, and Elouise.

Joyce worked as a waitress for Cowell's Colonial Café and later at Club LaCon for many years. She enjoyed working on her family tree, quilting, working in her flower gardens, collecting antiques, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial of Ashes will be in Lacon Cemetery.
